OSI and AboutCode collaborate to ensure the long-term sustainability, growth, and impact of ClearlyDefined​

  • Details: The Open Source Initiative (OSI) and AboutCode have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that establishes a new collaborative approach to stewarding and sustaining the ClearlyDefined project. See the OSI press release for more information.

Ecma International approved ECMA-427 for PURL​

  • Date: December 10, 2025
  • Details: The Package-URL (PURL) standard has reached a major milestone with its approval as the ECMA-427 standard. This validates PURL as the primary standard for software package identification across the software supply chain. PURL is also on a fast-track for submission to ISO/IEC JTC 1 to become an ISO standard.
